Simon Marlow
was born in Oxford, England, where he studied art and art history. After moving to London he studied performing arts at Middlesex University and acting at the Lee Strasburg Institute. Simon first professional engagements were three productions of “West Side Story”, the latter giving him his first West End credit and the opportunity to work with Leonard Bernstein and Tom Abbot in London.
Simons other West End credits include leading roles in Andrew Lloyd Webbers “Cats” and “Starlight Express” , the musical “Time” with David Cassidy.
In 1989 Simon moved to Hamburg to perform in the German productions of “Cats” and “Phantom of the Opera”. During this time Simon was involved in the founding of Stella Musical Managements, event and gala company Stella Events, giving him the opportunity to put to good use his training in art and design, creating shows and events for clients such as BMW and Volkswagwen. Simon continued to perform on Stage in Hamburg with the English speaking Stray Theatre company in productions of “Into the Woods”, “Closer than Ever”,”Jaque Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris”, and the plays “Orphans”,and “The Diviners”. In 1995 he worked with Arlene Phillips in the show” Broadway Düsseldorf, which opened the new Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf. Simon has guested with numerous swing orchestras including the “Passedena Roof Orchestra”, “The Cologne Big Band” and has been the lead singer with Berlin´s “Capital Dance Orchester since 2006, with them has perfomed with such German celebrities as Nina Hagen, Katja Riemann, Janette Biederman and Barbara Schöneberger. Simon´s most recent project is his musical biography Sinatra, The Man and the Music, which he has written and directed and perfomed at the Zitadelle in Berlin and Hamburg´s English Theater.
Since 2013, Simon has been collaborating with the Jazz Orchestra from the Croatian National Television, performing at the Avantgarde Jazz Festival and opening their 2013 season of televised concerts. Simon also opened for singing legend Natalie Cole at the Lisinski Conert Hall in Zagreb in November 2013.
